Anna and the French kiss, love novels

14.02.2015

I know that a lot of people don't like Valentine's Day. I personally don't have anything against the holiday mainly because I like heart-shaped candy. When I was thinking about my next post I decided that although not everyone experience a great love story, everyone can read one. I am kind of disappointed with the popular love stories from the past couple of years. Twilight and 50 shades of Grey have lots of fans, but for me they can't compare with books like Gone with the wind. So I decided for this Valentine's Day to write a post about new books with great love stories in them. All books included in this post can be found in Bulgarian. So here are the stories:

Lala and the boy next door, love stories, bonbons

Anna and the French kiss by Stephanie Perkins

Anna and the French kiss

This book was recommended to me by so many people, they all said that it is the most romantic and sweet love story. I just finished it and I totally agree. Anna and the French kiss is about an American girl called Anna who is sent to study in a boarding school in Paris. There she meets Etienne who has a girlfriend. The story is just so adorable and it takes place in Paris. The characters are very likable, Anna has a website and she writes about movies and she wants to become a movie critic. I definitely recommend this book if you are looking for a light romantic read. There are two companion novels in the series - Lola and the boy next door and Isla and the happily ever after. I am reading Lola and the boy next door at the moment. The books are companion novels so they can be read independently, but I recommend you to read them in the right order because you can find out how the previous books end. Anna and the French kiss is a young adult novel, but women from all ages love it.

Eleonor & Park by Rainbow Rowell

eleonorbookI've written a lot about this book, you can read my review here. This one is quite different from Anna and the French kiss, it's sad but at the same time it's a beautiful love story.

Beautiful disaster by Jamie McGuire

Beautiful disaster book

This is a new adult novel. All books in this genre have a few things in common - the main male character always have tattoos and he always owns a motorcycle. These novels come in series and the first book is told from the girl's point of view and the second book is told from the guy's point of view. The main characters in Beautiful disaster and Abby and Travis. Travis is a complicated character - he is a boxer, he's quite smart and loves the ladies a little bit too much. Abby is the good girl. The book tells the story of their friendship and then their love story. The next book in the series Walking disaster is basically Beautiful disaster told from Travis' point of view. The rest of the books in the series are about Travis' brothers.

Easy by Tammara Webber

Easy by Tammara Webber

This book is my favourite one from this list. It deals with more serious issues than the rest of the books here, it's not that much of a light read. Easy is also a new adult novel. The main characters in this book are Jacqueline and Lucas. Lucas is a mysterious character and we don't know much about him in Easy. The second book Breakable tells his story from his point of view. Breakable takes place before, during and after Easy. I don't want to say more about this book because I can spoil it for you. I highly recommend both books. The third novel in the series comes out in a couple of months and I can't wait to read it.

Wait for you by J. Lynn

Wait for you J. Lyn

J. Lynn is actually Jennifer L. Armentrout, she's one of my favourite authors. She also writes fantasy novels and there are nice love stories in all of her books. Jennifer L. Armentrout creates interesting characters and the dialogues between them are usually entertaining. Wait for you is a first book in a series and it tells the story of Cameron and Avery. The genre of this book is new adult and as you can guess the second book is from Cameron's point of view.

The last love story I want to include in this post is actually a movie - Love, Rosie. It's based on the book Where the rainbow ends by Cecelia Ahern. I recommend you the movie - it's a very sweet and funny romantic comedy. And it's with my favourite actress Lily Collins.
