My intention today was to write about Lancome Juicy shakers, but I realised that I haven’t reviewed these two older products. The truth is that neither of them actually impressed me that much. What I expect of a lip oil is to nourish and hydrate my lips. Neither of these oils does that.
Clarins Instant light lip comfort oil in 02 Raspberry
This product first came out last spring. I couldn’t get my hand on it back then, it sold out pretty quickly. Right before Christmas Clarins released it again, but this time it is here for good. It’s available in two shades 01 Honey (the yellow one) and 02 Raspberry. Another red shade is expected to come out with Clarins’ summer 2016 collection. Keep in mind that Honey and Raspberry actually contain different ingredients, the oils in them are different. My review may not be the same if I try the other shade 01 Honey.
This product disappointed me. The formulation is very sticky and does not hydrate my lips at all. On the contrary, I think it actually worsen the condition of my lips. Raspberry smells of raspberry syrup, like the one they put on top of ice cream. The packaging looks cute, you get 7 ml. of product. The applicator is quite comfortable and easy to use, I like it. Applied on the lips it looks like a clear lip gloss, it’s glossy. It lasts around 3 hours, but it’s really sticky.
YSL Volupte tint-in-oil in 6 Peach me love
This product is quite popular in the blogging world. It’s definitely a lovely lippie, but in my opinion it’s very overpriced. This oil is very different from the Clarins one. The formulation is light weight and not sticky at all. It feels nice on the lips, but as I mentioned before it does not provide enough care for my lips. It smells amazing of mango/peach (the typical scent of all YSL lip products). You get 6 ml. of product. This oil is available in different shades. Peach me love is a coral colour, looks really pretty on the lips. When you first apply it you get some colour plus a glossy effect, after an hour you’re left with a stain. The applicator is the typical one for all YSL and L’Oreal products. I like this oil, but it’s just too expensive and I won’t buy it again.
My disappointment in these products came from the fact that they do not provide enough care for my lips and I still need to use a lip balm. They can’t replace the lip gloss too, because they do not last long on the lips and the pigmentation is not very good.
