At the beginning of this year, I promised to write more about skincare. It’s October and I’m publishing the first post. In general, you don’t even need to buy an eye cream, you can use your face skincare products around your eyes. I am prone to crows feet and that’s the reason I use different products around my eyes. My fine lines first appeared in my teenage years. To be honest I expected this area of my face to look tragic after my 30th birthday, but I’m still holding up pretty well. I am quite pleased with these two Kiehl’s creams. I’ve been using them for the last year and a half and my eye area is looking great. I don’t have much of an issue with dark circles in general, the fine lines are my main concern.
Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado
What I like
This product is extremely popular in the blogging world. When I first opened the jar, I thought I won’t like it. The formulation is pretty thick and based on my experience this usually causes white bumps under the eyes. This last happened to me with Clinique All about eyes rich. Kiehl’s Creamy eye treatment turned out to be a completely different product. The formulation is thick, but it sinks immediately. The cream hydrates and calms the skin, it’s a really pleasant product. Another advantage is that you can use it right before bed without it irritating your eyes. I had this issue with Clinique Pep-Start (review here), which for me is strictly a morning eye cream. I watched one of Caroline Hiron’s videos and she said that Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment is great for people with fine lines, not dark circles. I can’t give an opinion more competent than hers. I don’t even have dark circles to have an opinion. The cream hydrates well, I don’t have new wrinkles since I’ use it’ve been using it. I would buy it again. The main thing you get with this product is hydration.
Some characteristics and what I don’t like
The eye cream has a slight scent to it, you get 14 g. of product. I’m not a fan of the fact that it’s in a jar because it collects bacteria. If you use only products with clean ingredients, this is not an eye cream for you. It contains 4 parabens. A big issue with Kiehl’s is that the ingredients list is difficult to find online. I’m not usually happy with the ingredients in their products.
Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Eye
I’ve written many times how much I dislike scented skincare. There’s nothing I hate more than a lavender scented product. That’s the reason I’ve never tried the famous Kiehl’s face oil. I was intrigued by the eye cream mainly because it contains oils. I’ve been thinking for a while that my eye area may be dry. In general I don’t use oils around my eyes because they can clog the lash follicles and cause a bunch of problems. I did my research online and it says everywhere that the eye cream is fragrance free. When I opened it for the first time I was shocked to discover that it smells exactly of lavender. I decided to use it after all and after a while luckily I got used to the scent. I was right, my eye area really needed some oil. I ended up liking this product. The formulation is refined and is no different from a regular eye cream. It sinks quickly and nourishes the skin. I don’t think that this is an anti-age product.
What I like
I like the packaging because it’s hygienic. You get the standard 15 ml.. I quite liked this eye cream, it does not irritate my skin or eyes. I would buy it again.
What I don’t like
I don’t like that it smells of lavender. The essential oils are not great for the area around your eyes, they cause mini reactions and the result can be developing an allergy.
P.S. You can order Kiehl’s online, we don’t have the brand in Bulgaria. I bought these products from here. The opinion in this post is personal.
