I’ve always loved bright pink lipsticks and Candy Yum Yum was on my radar ever since it was released with one of MAC’s limited edition collections. Later they made it permanent. All MAC lipsticks come in the standard black packaging and I can never figure out which one is which. When the Shadescents collection came out with the bestselling MAC lipsticks in limited edition packaging, it was time for me to purchase Candy Yum Yum. There were fragrances dedicated to each of the lipstick shades in this collection but I wasn’t a fan of the Candy Yum Yum scent.
I purchased it, I went home and realised that I already own this colour. Candy Yum Yum is almost identical to Maybelline Fuchsia Flash. I found them in some dupe lists on Pinterest but I was annoyed that I haven’t heard about them so I decided to write a post. I revived this old series from the blog archives, I don’t like the heading anymore, but I want consistency.
So here is a quick comparison between MAC Candy Yum Yum and Maybelline Fuchsia Flash
|MAC Candy Yum Yum||Maybelline Fuchsia Flash|
|neon pink||bright pink|
|matte finish||creamy slightly glossy finish|
|very long-lasting||mediocre longevity|
|requires well exfoliated lips||you can use it on slightly chapped lips|
|a comfort matte formula||a hydrating creamy formula|
|no feathering||no feathering|
I like both lipsticks. Candy Yum Yum is a neon shade and it’s not as easy to put off. The colours are similar enough and you don’t need both.
P.S. The lipsticks are bought with my own money and the opinion is personal.
