Those of you who follow me on Twitter probably know that last week I had a job interview. I am always quite nervous in situations like that where somebody else have to evaluate me. Before the interview I decided to check whether there is an app that can help me and of course there were a few.
I don't think that the way you act on the interview is crucial about whether you are going to get the job or not. Other factors like connections and experience are much more important, but we all want to look good in the eyes of others and we worry. Job Interview Q&A is a mobile app that is free to download and is available for both iOS and Android. You get five questions for free:
Question 1: Tell me about yourself.
Question 2: Why do you want to join this company?
Question 3: Why have you been out of work for so long?
Question 4: Describe yourself to me in one word.
Question 5: What have you been doing since you have been laid off?
The app lets you record yourself while you are answering the questions. Then you can watch a video with advices from an expert about how you should answer every one of the questions. You can buy packages with questions that are asked often on interviews, this is how this app gains money. To be honest it turns out that I've been doing a lot of mistakes on my job interviews. You definitely can learn a lot from this app. I personally have always wondered how to answer the question "What salary are you looking for?".
This app may not help you get that dream position, but it will help with your self-esteem.
