I really want to try the NARS Velvet Matte Lip pencils, but here in Bulgaria we don't have NARS and their products are not very affordable. When I heard that Maybelline are releasing their version of these pencils I was very excited. Their price in Bulgaria is only 5 lv.(2,5 euro) and you can choose between a lot of shades. I bought 520 Light it up and 420 In with coral. The only downside with Maybelline Color drama intense lip pencils is that you need a sharpener to use them. A good advice is to put them in the fridge for a while before you try to sharpen them, this way you don't lose a lot of product. The formulation is very easy to apply and you can apply it very precisely. I have very dry lips and I don't find these lip pencils drying. They are not completely matte, the finish is somewhere between satin and matte.
The shade 420 In with coral is a very pretty coraly pink colour, it would be perfect for summer. I definitely wanted to try a red shade, because I quite like the NARS lip pencil in Red Square. There are three reds in the range and I picked 520 Light it up - a classic bright red. It looks like it is a popular shade because I see it in a lot of blogs. I was pleasantly surprised to see that Maybelline Color drama intense lip pencils are paraben free because their price is so affordable. I highly recommend these lip pencils!
The other new Maybelline product is the Superstay Better Skin foundation. You can get it on a reduced price by the end of October, it costs 10,49 lv. (around 5 euro). This product promises hydration, flawless finish and even skin tone. Maybelline SuperStay Better Skin has SPF20.
The coverage of this foundation is medium to full, it really covers almost everything and the skin looks flawless. It applies and blends beautifully. The formulation is indeed hydrating. This foundation reminds me of the Max Factor Facefinity all day flawless (more about it here) because of the good coverage it gives, but the formulation is not as dry and you don't need a primer underneath it. It does not emphasize the dry areas of your skin. The shade that I have is 020 CAMEO which is a little bit too orange for me. There are testers in the drugstores, you can see if the colour is right for you, I just didn't.
The packaging is a glass bottle with a pump, I like it because I can see how much product I got left. You get the standard 30 ml. of product.
Maybelline SuperStay Better Skin promises to improve the condition of your skin after 3 weeks. This foundation is definitely not harsh for my skin, it does not dry it out, it does not irritate it in any way. With this product I was again surprised that it is paraben free. 80% of the drugstore foundations still contain parabens. You can see paraffin among the ingredients of the Maybelline SuperStay Better Skin foundation. I personally still use products with mineral oils in them. Paraffin is not great for your skin, it is not well absorbed and the skin can not breath, but it is not toxic. It bothers me a little bit in a foundation because you apply it on a big area of your skin, but I am still going to use it up, then I'll probably buy something new, but I always do that.
Maybelline SuperStay Better Skin is a good foundation especially for its price. Both products are cheaper in Bulgaria than in other European countries. It is great when brands do that for countries with lower standard of living.
