There aren’t many face contouring products in the drugstores. The new Maybelline Master Sculpt received a lot of positive reviews so I decided to try it.
There are two shades 01 - for fair and medium skin tones and 02 - for the darker skin tones. I own 01 Light/Medium. I think that this product can work only for women with very fair skin. If you have even a little bit of a tan go for the darker shade. It’s a plastic packaging but there are a mirror and a brush inside (I don’t use it). You get 9 g. of product, the contouring powder is probably around 6 g.. In comparison with my favourite Illamasqua contouring duo (review here) you get 3 g. highlighter and 3 g. contouring powder. In the packaging it looks like you don’t get a lot of product with the Maybelline palette, but that’s not the case.
Maybelline Master Sculpt is not very pigmented, but it works great for everyday use. I definitely like the contouring powder, the colour is not too orange or too muddy and it looks very natural. The highlighter is not an intense one and you can use it for everyday makeup. My problem with the highlighter is that it contains some small glitter particles. You can’t really notice them during the day, but when the light is artificial you can see glitter on your face.
If you are lusting over Kim Kardashian’s contoured cheek bones or you want a highlighter for strobing this product won’t work for you. Maybelline Master Sculpt is more of an everyday kind of contouring palette, the colours are not very intense.
