Here is finally the second part of my post Top 14 books of 2014. If you've missed the first one you can find it here. Lately I've been crazy busy and to be honest my organization is not that great. I hope that I publish the posts with my 2014 favourites before the end of 2015. So here are the next seven books:

8. Mr. Penumbra's 24-hour bookstore by Robin Sloan - I read this book at the beginning of 2014. Sadly you can't find it in Bulgarian and my guess is that it is available only in English. Robin Sloan self publishes Mr. Penumbra's 24-hour bookstore as a short novella on Amazon. It's a huge success so he writes a whole novel and it is officially published. The story is a very interesting mix of technology, mystery and history. I wrote a whole post about Mr. Penumbra's 24-hour bookstore here.

9. Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout - This is the first book in the Lux series, I've written about it here. Jennifer L. Armentrout has become one of my favourite authors. She has written a lot of books and they are all great. Sometimes she publishes under the name J. Lynn, these are usually her romance novels. When I spot a book written by her it goes straight to my Amazon wish list. I picked the book Obsidian for this post because in 2014 I read five books from the Luxe series.

10. The innovators by Walter Issacson - I looked forward to the new book by Walter Issacson and it did not disappoint me. The innovators tells the story of the digital age. It was very interesting to me to read how women have entered the male dominated professions. Just all male engineers had to fight in the wars. The first programmers were women too. You can read more in my post here.

11. Sweet evil by Wendy Higgins - I really enjoyed this trilogy. The world is pretty complex and it deserves a separate review. It's in my list with future posts. You can't find these books is Bulgarian although they are very popular.

12. Throne of glass by Sara J. Maas - This book is probably the most popular fantasy book at the moment. I wrote a review here. I really liked the first two books in the series. I was kind of disappointed with the third one because is a little bit too much of a fantasy for me. If you are a fan of A song of ice and fire you'll probably like Throne of glass. All books published by now are translated in Bulgarian.

13. Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo - Shadow and bone is the first book in the Grisha trilogy by Leigh Bardugo. I read it in December and I really liked it. I am reading the second book Siege and Storm at the moment butI find it a little bit slow. The Grisha trilogy is a nice fantasy. This is one of those stories that you just can't help it and you fall in love with the villain. All three books are translated in Bulgarian. When I finish the series I'll write more about it.

14 These broken stars by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner - This book I liked not as much as the other books in this list. I've written more about it here. It's kind of similar to the TV show LOST and that's why I liked it. There's a great love story in These broken stars. The book is not translated in Bulgarian.
